Preamble
The pastoral community in Tanzania is facing existential threats from the impacts of climate change, flucuating market prices, livestock diseases, and unfavourable policies. Yet, for the pastoral community to confront the realities of the modern world, they must have education. Education is a gateway that will lead to the fulfillment of other human rights, as well as a powerful weapon to fight poverty, social justice, land loss, and other social ills in society. Evidence from Tanzania has shown that well-educated youth can transform their families and communities and speak against traditional and externally related malpractices.
The Oreteti Foundation symoblizes unwavering love and resilience against uncertainties. The Foundation believes in education, especially for girls, as a fundamental cornerstone for pastoralist communities to build resilience, reduce poverty and improve development outcomes.
